Job Responsibilities
Job responsibilities will be partially driven by qualifications and area of interest expressed by student but typical task will include C code development for 32 bit Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) and C# desktop application development. This includes validation testing of software changes, implementing new software features, enhancing existing software features, tracking and documenting customer or internally reported issues in an issue tracker system. Additionally, the job may require construction of other software and database tools as needed by the team.
Additional non software task may include support of production testing, embedded controls hardware development including digital circuit design and schematic entry and PCB layout review.  The engineering intern will be expected to learn how to safely operate power lab equipment including motor drives in order to test software and hardware changes. Additionally, the job may require construction of prototype circuits and test fixtures as needed by the engineering team and maintenance of production test procedures and test fixtures.
Students will be exposed to all or some of the following tools and technologies: Embedded Integrated Development Environments such as TI Code Composer Studio and Atmel Studio,  Visual Studio application development, SQLite databases, embedded communication stack and file system libraries, SVN Version Control, Atlassian JIRA issue tracking, project documentation WIKIs, PSIM circuit simulation, Altium PCB design, Digital Signal Processors, Microcontrollers, analog circuits, power converter hardware, and industrial induction motor drives.
The job will require the ability to work safely in a high voltage power lab under the guidance of qualified lab personnel.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration
Current enrollment at an accredited college or university engineering program (UW-Milwaukee/Madison or equivalent).
Prefer a Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Computer Science degree with interest in hardware also acceptable. Prefer a minimum GPA of 3.0.
