Job Duties

Leadership
- Provide visionary leadership for new student enrollment by developing, executing, and assessing a strategic recruitment plan, including the development and execution of qualified lead generation strategies, robust communication plans and a multi-channel communication strategy, the commitment to the recruitment of diverse student populations, assessment of enrollment funnel yield activities, exceptional and comprehensive visit experience programs, maintaining market share and development of new markets, and collaboration with other departments such as Marketing/University Relations, academic colleges, alumni, and others to advance recruitment efforts.
- Work with the Director of Student Financial Services to develop and manage a strategic financial aid and scholarship awarding program that leverages existing aid to meet the recruitment and retention goals of the strategic enrollment plan, in collaboration with the Vice President for Student Engagement & Success, the strategic enrollment management committee, University Advancement, and other key stakeholders.
- Engage with University Advancement in leveraging the University's capital campaign to enhance and enlarge the Wildcat Promise Scholarship.
- Work with the Director, Student Financial Services to maintain CWU's eligibility for Federal Title IV aid and Washington State student aid by ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and reporting.
- Evaluate, improve, and/or sustain the practices of the student enrollment experience, including timely, effective, and positive engagement with students and families throughout the entirety of their experiences with admissions and financial aid, including offering programs and materials in Spanish when appropriate.
- Provide regular enrollment funnel updates/reports to the VP, SES, the strategic enrollment management committee, and other university stakeholders.
- Direct the operations of new student recruitment, freshmen and transfer admissions, the visitation experience, the recruitment customer relationship management (CRM) Slate, enrollment processing, financial aid and scholarship awarding, and collaborates with Marketing/University.
- Relations on strategic enrollment communications for both Admissions and Student Financial Services.
- Serve as a primary liaison for the Offices of Admissions and Student Financial Services to Deans/Associate Deans within academic colleges and departments. Foster collaborative, consultative, and meaningful partnerships between these offices and other constituents.
- Partner with the Marketing/University Relations to create an integrated and seamless enrollment and marketing plan. In collaboration with Marketing/University Relations, oversee including the Admissions and Student Financial Services websites and written materials, including all recruitment materials and communications in English and Spanish, and serve as the final approver for all admissions and financial aid recruitment collateral and communications.
- Represent the Admissions and Student Financial Services, as well as the Division of Student Engagement & Success, on University committees, task forces, and special assignments.
- Work with compliance officers to ensure functions within Admissions and Student Financial Services adhere to institutional policies and federal and state regulations, along with meeting established enrollment management best practices established by AACRAO, NASFA, NACAC, and others.
- Maximize the use of technology in all operational and strategic aspects of the Admissions and Student Financial Services, and remain current on emerging technologies, innovative management tools, and best practices in all areas of responsibility.
- Manage, direct, and assess all third-party partners/contracts supporting Admissions and Student Financial Services.


- Recruit, select, hire, train, develop, and provide leadership and supervision to the Admissions and Student Financial Services teams.
- Clearly define performance expectations, ensure accountability, and provide ongoing informal feedback, coaching, and mentoring. Conduct formal performance evaluations. Take corrective action in a timely manner.
- Ensure employees have necessary resources to perform their job responsibilities.
- Oversee and direct the work of staff; serve as mentor, coach and leader; and resolve complaints and/or issues.
- Promote professional development opportunities.
- Develop and foster supportive working relationships, motivation and engagement.
- Communicate information to staff on an ongoing basis to enhance staff engagement and understanding of internal and external activities and context.

- Oversee and manage budgets for Admissions and Student Financial Services, inclusive of tuition waivers, financial aid, and scholarships, in addition to operating expenses.
- Monitor, review and reconcile budget reports.
- Develop/present budget recommendations to the VP, SES.
- Work with the Director of SFS, to oversee the accurate and effective disbursement of federal, state, university, and non-institutional funds to students, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.

- Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • A master's degree in higher education, marketing, communications, counseling, or related field; and,
  • At least seven (7) years of demonstrated, and increasingly responsible, experience in leading college admissions, student recruitment, enrollment management, and/or financial aid.
  • Experience working with budgets, including being comfortable conducting budget projections, generating reports, reviewing expenditures, and recognizing inconsistencies.
  • Competency in analyzing admissions and financial aid data and assessing activities as part of a strategic enrollment management plan and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with departments and leaders across the university landscape (for example: Institutional Effectiveness, Research and Planning, University Advancement, Marketing/University Relations, University Housing, etc.) to meet enrollment targets and enhance the student experience.
  • Demonstrated ability and/or experience working with students and/or colleagues from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and experiences.
  • OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using student information systems, such as PeopleSoft, as well as CRMs, such as Slate;
  • Life experiences that demonstrate an ability to contribute to CWU's commitment to inclusion and diversity;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a second language (Spanish preferred);
  • Experience mentoring and educating staff who will serve diverse populations;
  • Experience supporting executive level administrators.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Salary: This position has a minimum annual salary of $138,695 and maximum annual salary of $221,912. The Hiring Department's expected hiring range is $138,695 - $221,912. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the hiring range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch)

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
