The Conflicts Analyst is responsible for online research, database searches and other due diligence necessary for the Firm to determine whether to accept new business under prevailing ethical rules and internal policies. Ability to work west coast business hours is a plus. Remote flexibility is available for employees within a commutable distance from some of the Nixon Peabody LLP offices listed below.

Location: Location: Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Manchester, NH; Providence, RI; Rochester, NY; Washington, DC

  • Perform timely and thorough research utilizing online resources and the Firm's conflicts of interest database to assess the Firm's possible involvement with parties.
  • Interpret and analyze information obtained through various channels to accurately present organized reports and research summaries to attorneys. This process is used to minimize risk and avoid conflicts of interest when evaluating new business, lateral hires and other special projects.
  • Communicate with attorneys, secretaries, and team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of conflict reports and other due diligence to support informed decisions and the integrity of data entered into the Firm's various databases.
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality rules regarding client and Firm matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Work experience in lieu of a degree considered.
  • 2-4 years of experience working in a corporate setting, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Expert level deductive reasoning, analytical and research skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid computer skills. Proficiency with conflicts databases a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface with attorneys, management, staff and external contacts at all levels.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and customer service orientation.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology used for common business structures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

In accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, the anticipated annual salary range for this position, depending on location, is as follows: Providence:

  • Rochester, NY: $58,172 to $83,210
  • Manchester, NH: $58,172 to $83,210
  • Providence, RI: $63,989 to $91,530
  • Chicago, IL: $66,898 to $95,691
  • Boston, MA: $69,807 to $99,851
  • Washington, DC: $69.807 to $99,851

In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on an array of factors, including but not limited to: work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications. Because such contingent compensation is not yet calculable or may be zero ($0) in some circumstances, the above-listed salary range is Nixon Peabody's good faith estimate of the annual salary it reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of this posting.
